- R1: with light pink yarn, 6 SC into MR (6)

This forms the axolotl's main body. Attach the safety eyes and stitch the black mouth at this point.
Now we will begin decreasing to shape the axolotl’s body. Stuff the body as you go to keep the axolotl's shape nice and plump!

Fasten off the yarn at the end of the body, leaving a tail for sewing.
Tail
- Using dark pink yarn, CH 4. Starting in the second chain from the hook, work 1 HDC into each of the next 3 chains. SLST to the base where you started the chain.
- Repeat this two more times. Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing.
Fins (Make 6)
- R1: Using dark pink yarn, 8 SC into MR (8)
- R2-R7: 8 SC in each row (8)
Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing.
Front Feet (Make 2)
- R1: Using Light pink yarn, 6 SC into MR (6)
- R2-R3: 6 SC in each row (6)
SLST into the first stitch of the round to close the hole. Flatten the foot and leave a long tail for sewing.
Back Feet (Make 2)
- R1: Using Light pink yarn, 6 SC into MR (6)
- R2-R4: 6 SC in each row (6)
SLST into the first stitch of the round to close the hole. Flatten the foot and leave a long tail for sewing
Sew the fins to each side of the Axolotl near the face and attach the tail to the back. Flatten the feet slightly and sew them to the base of the body so the Axolotl rests flat and stable.
